Located south west of the Westford Rd Rt 3 exit is this tower. It also has two microwave link dishes - probably used to relay U.S. Cellular signals to/from NH. Not visible in this picture is the second microwave dish located below the tree line.

Located just south east of the Westford Rd. Rt 3 exit is this PCS tower which has had a number of residents over the years. Picture taken from the Mobile Gas station parking lot. |

Leaving NH on Rt 3 South, on the west side of the highway is this tower. It's wedged between Rt 3 and Dunstable Road, just adjacent to the old Tyngsboro trash dump. Specifically, it's located behind 86 Progress Ave, which is off Cummings Rd, which is off Dunstable Rd. It's literally right on the Dunstable / Tyngsboro line. The first, second, and third pictures are a profile of the tower that has 4 wireless providers. The top of the tower also has a omnidirectional antenna, probably for commercial purposes. Also, you can see on the top most array masting a small microwave dish which is pointing into NH. My educated guess is the second array down is for T-Mobile (the power panel below says Omnipoint as they were called a few years back) due to the Yagi type antennas in use. The north face of this array has a very heavy elevational down tilt due to this towers proximity to the NH border. The third array down is probably Nextel. The other two I'm not sure about as the power panels didn't say, but the sets of wires in the bottom left of the 4th picture lead to a unit which looks very similar to the Sprint PCS units I have seen. The fourth and 5th pictures are of the power panel. You can clearly see OMNIPOINT (T-Mobile) and NEXTEL power meters labled. The other two were not labled. The last picture came out a bit dark, but it's a shot of the telephone pole which provides the power and PSTN cables to the site. Below the transformer at the top of the pole is a punchdown type box which has a whole slew of fiber cables running in and out of it, plus some old copper cables. The ground near this area between the telephone pole and the fencing was all dug up exposing the PVC conduit used to run the power and data cables. I should have snapped a shot of that too for posterity's sake, but I wasn't thinking. It was raining and my camera was getting soaked!
