Supporting Efforts & Causes

New England Cellular Sites has supported a number of causes since it was conceived as a website in 2003.

The following is a list of some of the assistance that has been provided.

Note that all the references listed below have obtained, in writing, permission to make use of the photography and information contained within this website.

Publications

The second edition of the book "Wireless Crash Course" (published by McGraw-Hill) contains photos of cell sites, base stations, and the like, some of which were obtained from the New England Cellular Sites website. Environmental Protection

The Adirondack Council, an environmental advocacy organization in upstate New York's Adirondack Park, has made use of photograph of a cell tower in Bedford, NH for a series of hearings and media interviews on whether such a tower will be allowed on the shore of Lake George. This wouldbe the first structure allowed to rise above the tree line on Pilot Knob, which is an entirely residential community and a prominent natural feature of the western shore of the lake.

The Barton Mountain Alliance is an environmental advocacy organization in Vermont which is trying to protect Barton Mountain, a well-known local landmark, from unnecessary industrial development, including the landscape-damaging affects of uneccesary cell tower placement.

Community Petitions

To help start a petition against the building of a cell tower at a Fire Station.

Other community efforts have also been supported regarding cell tower placement & construction.

Non-Profit Organizations

New England Cellular Sites was asked to assist the Instructional Telecommunications Foundation, Inc. in locating photos for an upcoming publication. Kevin L., a contractor for ITF, Inc. states:

We are a 501C3 EBS licensee currently providing free two-way video equipment and content delivery to more than four hundred sites in eleven markets across the U.S. We recently implemented an initiative that will help us, along with other EBS allies, measurably increase excess leasing values with commercial lessees on which we all rely for support of our operations.

Recently, we were afforded a unique opportunity to present the project to a group of key industry influencers requiring the development and production of collateral materials in less than one week. Our contracted design team has been extremely resourceful in assembling the necessary images for the project with the exception of just one missing subject--a color shot of a prototypical cellular tower. As you are no doubt aware, EBS (located in and around 2.5 GHz) is emerging as a spectrum of choice for Wi-Max and other next-generation high-speed wireless technologies which, as currently projected, will be dominated by cellular-based deployment strategies.

New England Cellular Sites is honored to help out such a worthy cause!

Business Ventures

TopSpin Creative Corporation has used some photos for a documentary they created based on the 9/11 tragedy. The documentary was discussing the use of cell phones within airplanes flying across the USA. Additional photography of a specific cell site in Bedford NH were taken and provided to them.

American Technical Ceramics, a manufacturer of capacitors, resistors and inductors, based out of Huntington Station, NY has made use of a series of high resolution photos of a Nashua NH cell site monopole tower for one of their advertising campaigns. The advertisement has been placed in trade publications directed at Engineers in the RF Microwave market.
