Wow, here it is late spring and the concert season is certainly in full swing!
It's also been a while since I have blogged here, but the good news is that I have been keeping on top of updating my website releases and my trade list pages on a regular basis. I'm still very active with torrent trades these days.
I have a few new recordings to speak of since the last blog. I only ended up releasing the YES show as a torrent, and the Brandi Carlile and Muse Maxtrix recordings were not released. Brandi's management asked me to refrain from it, and the Muse Maxtrix came out "okay" - but it was not really suitable as it's own torrent. I was certainly usable as an additional audio track on an HD Video project of that show that another taper fron NJ is doing. Maybe someday we will see that be released as a package. Fingers crossed!
I also just released Melody Gardot @ the Wilbur Theater, Boston. Not my best recording as the house sound system was terrible, but I did get a chance to use my new microphones.
I purchased new Church Audio 14 cardioids mics, and a STC-9000 preamp!
The sound quality blows away the CSB's.
This will now be my primary set of mics for taping. My CSB's are still working, but the battery box has an unidentified loose connection someplace that needs to be repaired. I'll use them as a backup if needed.
Some taping opportunities for upcoming shows that I will be attending follow.
Rush - Mohegan Sun - Monday July 19, 2010 - Section 2, Row F
Rush - Boston Garden - Tuesday September 14, 2010 - 17th row, center
The Tubes - They have 3 area shows in October. I may attend two, but definitely one.
I'd love to see Switchfoot @ any of their three area appearances, but they are only opening for the Goo Goo Dolls, not headlining, so it would be short set.
Also - I will be skipping Katie Herzig and Brandi Carlile on their upcoming tour of the area.
I'm sure more shows will be added to that short list above, but perhaps not. I spent a lot of $$$ on the Mohegan Sun Rush tickets and busted the bank in doing so.
As always, if your a taper, seasoned or not, and would like to collaborate with me on any show, please get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
