Tapers Notes:

Gregory Alan Issakov opened for Brandi on this fine April fools day in New Hampshire. What a wonderful venue for any performance. Not only is the Portsmouth Music Hall luminous to the eyes, its serendipitous to the ears. And, once again, Brandi and the boys did a fine acoustic set to solidify their mastership of the craft. Thank you Brandi!

Besides having a fun time on stage, there seemed to be a few ghosts present this evening. Gregory had many issues with his guitars being out of tune, and during the Brandi set, poor Josh nearly had some bird crap hit him. There was some sort of bird living in the rafters doing it's business. Needless to say it was the joke for a while and Josh wore a hat for the remaining portion of the show.

Recording the show went well too. After obtaining permission to record (from the Music Hall Assistant Technical Director for Sound: thank you Mike!), the locale for the R-09 really could not have been better. Although I ended up setting the mic gain a bit too low, the recording came our quite stellar. A volume boost and a little EQ made it a bit more ambient. At points you can hear some of the "hiss" from the mics, especially on the unplugged songs.

I would like to thank Bryan for being the dedicated Brandi fan that he is and for getting us the great seats to see this show. He is one of the elite who is a member of the Portsmouth Music Hall.
