Cell Tower |
Location
and Description |
Located behind Cinema8 and the Mile High Pie store, just across the railroad tracks, is this cell tower that has been here since the late 1990's. I remember when it was build, and from what I remember, US Cellular was the first carrier present on this tower. Soon thereafter, Nextel and Cingular followed. You can barely see the equipment shacks for US Cell and Nextel in this shot. |
|
Closer view of the tower. US Cell at the top, Nextel, then Cingular. Nextel uses their traditional redundant 4 antenna configuration here. Two are active antennas (per face), and the other two are "hot" standby's. Cingular is at the bottom. It appears this setup is GSM only. |
|
Closer clear shot of the whole
tower top. You can see the US Cellular TDMA panels (the top row,
white antennas). The two grey antennas on either side are the new
CDMA 1X antennas. |
|
Signs on the fencing. The white
sign is for the FCC Structure Registration ID # 10310293. Pretty
safe to say this tower is owned by US Cellular. |
|
Cingular / TeleCorp sign. It
has site id# NAS160 on it. |
|
Close up shot of the Cingular
base station equipment racks. You can see the US Cellular shack
in the background. |
|
Door signage for the Nextel shack. You wouldn't know this was a Nextel shack if it was not for the field test I did plus the antenna configuration that is present. I could not get to the power panel for this site to take photos of it as it was tucked away. |
