and Description |

At the 495 and Rt 290 interchange is this PCS tower that has been here for many years. The top picture shows the tower from a distance, in the middle of the shot. You can see that from where the picture was taken and on the horizon the next ridge of hills. This tower is odd in that it's in a valley rift, obviously placed here as the other surrounding towers have poor coverage in this little valley. |

OLD WATER TOWER |
? |
Off Rt 495 near the rt 20 exits, you can see this really old water tower with a couple of antenna arrays on it. Exact location forthcoming. |

Located on Rt 20 in Marlboro, not far from the Marlboro airport, at 45-460 Boston Post Road on top of the Countryside Village Apartments are these two omni-directional cell antennas. These antennas are very popular in rural flat america (like in the wide open spaces of Wyoming, and also near the seacoast areas like the Florida Keys). Not very popular in heavy urban areas with lots of multipath reflections, but none the less, two carriers here did a short cut to get coverage. Not sure of the carriers, but hopefully someday will find out. |

This picture is poor due to lack of light, but if you look closely you can see two antennas mounted on the side of this building located at 342 Lincoln Street in Marlborough. Don't know who's it is, but it's certainly a PCS carrier. |

The city of Marlborough also makes use of very well hidden cell antennas in church steeples and building roofs, obviously obscured from all eyes. If you know where some of these are located, please share them with me!
