Located on top of Big Bear Hill off Rt 13 in Brookline, NH, (POTANIPO HILL RD) this tower was erected by U.S. Cellular back in 1998-1999 timeframe. The top most array is U.S. Cellular. The second array is Nextel and was added in December 2002. This tower also contains microwave repeater links for U.S. Cellular (one pointing W/NW - probably for the U.S. Cell tower in Greenfield NH, and another dish facing E/SE probably repeating to the tower in Tyngsboro, MA). Amateur radio transmitter site of the 53.930 repeater. Also serves as the third receive site for the 146.730 repeater linked to the N1IMO repeater system based out of Hollis, NH. Just below the Nextel array is a radio antenna believed to be for Brookline Emergency Services (Fire Department). News: In June 2003, the top most array (US Cellular) was upgraded to CDMA 3G with a second set of 8 foot paddle array antennas co-located next to the original TDMA antennas. See the Hollis NH site for detailed pictures of this 3G deployment. |

Located on the Northern most section of Brookline, NH, right on the Milford town line on Ball Hill Road is this new tower. Descriptions of photos are: Brookline North Photo 1& 2- Two shots from Runonella Road (off Rt 13 at the Milford/Brookline town line), looking west down the power lines, this is the view of the tower. Brookline North Photo 3 & 4 - A shot from it's base looking up at the new tower. Brookline North Photo 5- A shot of the shelter at it's base. When I shot these photos, the chain link fencing was not yet installed. Brookline North Photo 6- A shot looking up the skirt of the tower. Love this angle with the Sun shining!!! Brookline North Photo 7- A shot of the power panel in front of the shelter. Brookline North Photo 8- A shot of the side arm of the tower. This appears to be a back haul/uplink/downlink antenna which is pointed to the Bear Hill USCC Tower. I was told that this may be a temporary back haul solution until they get their T1's installed at this new site. Brookline North Photo 9- A shot of the arms holding the cell antennas. Brookline North Photo 10 - A wider shot of the arms and of the back haul antenna. Brookline North Photo 11 - The coax feed into the shelter. Brookline North Photo 12 - A shot of the Brookline Emergency Services antennas that were just laying on the ground at the site (a poor choice leaving them there in the open!). Brookline North Photo 13 - A close up shot of one of the labels on one of the antenna tubes. Brookline North Photo 14 - Another photo of the antennas. These are being co-located on top of the new cell tower such that Brookline Emergency Services can have better radio coverage. Brookline North Photo 15 - A base wide angle view of the shelter and surrounding area. Brookline North Photo 16 - Another photo of the tower.
